This is the process of exposing some areas of the metal in order to imprint the image on top. First, the image is covered with an acid-resisting shielding coating. Second, the image is then uncovered which leaves the some unprotected metal and some protected. Third, the applied acid attacks the unprotected metal with the image. Hence, the image is left engraved onto the promotional product’s surface.
